A Retirement Message from Mrs. Lyons

Hello Pine Glen Families!

I am writing to all of you to let you know that I will be retiring as of June 26, 2020.  I have been a teacher for 30 years, and much of that time has been spent here at Pine Glen.  I have loved my time here and have felt part of the larger Pine Glen family over the many years.  I have taught Grades 4 to 8, I have been a Reading Intervention teacher, a Special Education Resource teacher and an Instructional Leader focusing on math instruction.  I have worked at more than 10 schools in the Muskoka area, and I can say wholeheartedly that the teachers at Pine Glen are some of the best educators I have ever worked with.  You are very lucky to have them in your childrens’ lives.

I am very sad that I will not be able to spend my last few months teaching the children as I normally would have.  I’ve missed the day to day bustle and energy that comes from the classrooms and your wonderful kids.  I will miss Pine Glen very much, but I hope to see parents, staff and students in Huntsville when things get back to normal.

So stay safe Pine Glen family!  Have a lovely summer and I’ll cross my fingers for the students getting back to our wonderful school very soon!
